Anno 117: Pax Romana is the first new addition to the Anno series since Anno 1800 was released in 2019, and it's absolutely been worth the wait. Overall, it's less flexible than Cities: Skylines and the combat is much simpler than Total War, but the combination is incredibly well-done. It's a fantastic new city-builder from Ubisoft, and fans of the genre will be very happy with this one. There isn't much story here, but that's not expected for the series or the genre. Anno 117 is set in Ancient Rome, making this the earliest historical setting in the franchise...

It's been four years since the last Battlefield game was released and seven years since we got a new single-player campaign, with a whole decade passing since the last story set in modern times. A lot has changed with FPS games since then, but Battlefield 6 doesn't seek to innovate. The game doesn't offer us anything spectacularly new. Instead, Battlefield 6 embodies everything Battlefield and shows us exactly why this series is so successful. The end result is a reimagining of what the Battlefield series is. Something that might feel a little safe at times, yet it's still everything we wanted it to be...

Players control a purpose-built war clone, sent to fight in ground-based mercenary contracts across the stunning Star Map that covers the planets of New Eden. The story connects to the stories of other games from the EVE universe while also exploring themes such as consciousness transfer and the growing influence of the Deathless Circle. There's no need to have played any of the other games from this series to understand the storylines or enjoy them. The story we've seen so far is a part of the EVE universe, but it also comfortably stands alone. Operation Nemesis focuses on the player's initial deployment as a newly activated vanguard and the moral complexities of their role within the perpetual, never-ending war across New Eden...
