World Of Warcraft: Midnight Expansion
Blizzard
The 2nd chapter of The Worldsoul Saga begins. You’ll return to the legendary kingdom of Quel’thalas then adventure through new and reimagined zones in search of new allies in the battle against Xal’atath. Journey to Harandar the bioluminescent primordial jungle. Discover a distant world ravaged by the void where predation reigns supreme and threats lurk within every shadow of the hostile landscape.
World of Warcraft: Midnight is the eleventh expansion and the second chapter of The Worldsoul Saga, sending players back to the legendary kingdom of Quel’Thalas. The new DLC brings a fresh wave of content to the iconic game with plenty of reasons to keep coming back. It can feel a little disorientating at first but, Midnight is absolutely worth returning to WoW for.
Without spoilers, Midnight is best experienced after watching the past five or six pre-expansion cinematics. It’s a little disorientating otherwise at first. The new DLC throws players into the depend, summoned by a prayer to aid in repelling the Xal’atath’s invasion of the elven kingdom of Quel’Thalas. After this however, it flows nicely together and the story is very easy to become engrossed in.
WoW: Midnight, draws in deep from the history of the game to bring players back to the old world. Silvermoon City has been rebuilt and the starter zone of Eversong Woods has even been upgraded into a new questing area. While Midnight does bring upgrades, it’s a return to the familiar world of Wow’s early days and even new questlines that include flashbacks to the events of 1996 World of Warcraft. It places heavy emphasis on the history of game and creates an incredible sense of awe, nostalgia and wonder.
Midnight brings a few new features to the world with four new and reimagined zones including Eversong Woods and Silvermoon City. There are 65 side quest lines to explore which all have several steps and they all feel valuable to complete, they offer more story and depth to the world despite being optional. Of course, the battle against the Void also sends players into the Voidstorm where other unique quests await. One of the new quests even gives special quest text and dialogue options to Draenei players.

Midnight brings a few new features to the world with four new and reimagined zones including Eversong Woods and Silvermoon City. One of the new quests even gives special quest text and diaglogue options to Draenei players.
With the ongoing battle, the third specialisation for Demon Hunters has been added; the Devourer which harnesses the Void with unique ranged abilities. It brings a brand new playstyle to the game by expanding the role and capabilities of Demon Hunters in combat with the Void Scythe. Midnight also finally allows the Void Elf Demon Hunter to enter the fray.
Playing through the expansion also unlocks the Haranir, a new Allied Race which is neutral and can choose to be Horde or Alliace. They have access to various classes. Haranir hunters start with the unique Saptor pet meanwhile, they also have unique Druid forms that reflect the aesthetics of the homeland of Harandar. Full character customisation is included for them and they currently have Heritage armour sets in two colours.
Apex talents can feel a little annoying at times. They “force” players into certain talent selection which drastically limits options without giving players much choice. They are very strong and useful but, they do take away the freedom to experiment. It’s a minor issue considering all the good things about the expansion.
There is also some new endgame content. Prey is the new max-level open-world hunting system where players complete Prey Hunts to defeat specific targets. Players are sent to chase down targets across different zones and must complete different objectives to determine the location of the Prey and kill it. It comes with unique challenges, a seasonal journey track, plenty of rewards and three difficulties to unlock. The Prey is always an NPC, there’s no need to worry about forced PvP! However, the NPC targets are not sitting idle. They are also hunting the players targeting them and might attack at any time.
Housing is also part of Midnight though it has been playable for a while already. It allows players to claim land, built, decorate and personalise their own house and plot of land. There are neighbourhoods to move into with other players or build one with a guild. Everyone gets to have a house and it’s shared with your Warband so different characters can use it regardless of Alliance/Horde status. It’s a fantastic new addition to the game and there’s a lot to love here.
Personally I adore World Of Warcraft and I’m always praying for more time to play so this expansion our sponsored live stream showcase was amazing. The loot system unlocks after completing the campaign and it’s a nice addition overall. The new dungeons are fun but are currently limited to normal and heroic meanwhile the raids wont be available for a few more weeks. Midnight expansion has a lot to offer players and it’s easy to lose hours playing the game, especially in Silvermoon City. There’s a few bugs left for Blizzard to deal with and some content to add but, Midnight has a lot to offer and is a fantastic re-entry point for fans of the old world!
