We are Simon Blue and Row Queenie, a gaming couple from the United Kingdom. We pride ourselves on chatbox interaction, having fun together and building a positive community around us. We began streaming 2015 as a hobby to spend more time together and in 2016 we received Twitch.tv partnership. In 2017 we were financially able to quit our real life jobs and become full-time content creators.
For 4 years we’ve been using 2 gaming PCs and 1 streaming PC with 2 cameras creating a double perspective broadcast. Not only does this system stand out amongst the single streamers on the platform but it means we can cover all ground and focus on having fun.
We specialise in community management, analytics and call to actions. We’ve worked on campaigns with ASUS, Nvidia, Corsair Elgato, Plantronics RIG and many more. With our Photoshop skills and web development knowledge we’re able to quickly and cost efficiently completely all tasks in-house.
Gaining the hardware knowledge and having the patience while testing a 3 PC stream setup is extremely tough. Dealing with compatibility issues as they appear live on stream using 2 cameras, 2 capture cards and 2 mics can be very tricky. Every donation we received for the first 2 years was put back into our hardware which increased our production value to where it is today.
We’re proud to be supporting smaller streamers by passing on our knowledge that we’ve learnt over 4 years of Twitch streaming and working with large companies. Every fortnight we host a on stream ‘Stream Doctor’ session where we analyse a new streamers content and methodically explain ways to improve.
While working with Florpad, an amazing company who sell high-end gaming floor mats we had the huge opportunity to put our Photoshop skills to the test and design our Florpad. It was a huge challenge to design a high resolution image file of 5000×5000 pixels but we were able to successful create, giveaway and sell our very own branded BlueandQueenie Florpad gaming mat.
Gleam.io is an amazing giveaway website wheres users complete actions to gain entry tickets. By carefully focusing on specific actions we’re able to maximise impressions to increase our social media statistics and thereby increasing our collaboration opportunities with companies such as SteelSeries, Elgato and Nvidia.
Call to actions rock! By crafting smart call to actions we have successfully achieved a high rate of visitor to community member conversion. With chatbox links, giveaways and on stream overlays with attractive Photoshop artwork we can drive new visitors onto our Discord community server. Through custom backlinks with our website tracking we can monitor the strength our call to actions and act accordingly.
In 2018 we were honoured to be nominated for Red Bull’s Best British PUBG Streamer. We faced off against 100s of huge content creators like Break, Sacriel and many other Esports personalities on all streaming platforms. We were very humbled to receive 3rd place with over 700 votes in a such a short period of time.
In March 2019 we were honoured to be nominated and co-win an amazing award with CohhCarnage for the top Twitch community. As a reward we were given 8 of the latest RTX graphics cards and first access to the new dedicated RTX NVENC(new) encoder. The new encoder meant we could expand our stream with a higher resolution and more exciting graphics.
Twitch is a great platform however discoverability is almost zero. We set ourselves a target in March to use a platform like Instagram with high discoverability and grow our following from 1,000 to 10,000 followers by the end of 2019. By researching gaming hashtags and using specific call to actions methods we hit our target in September. Over the last few months we’ve been successfully moving our Instagram audience onto our Twitch platform.
We pride ourselves on being chat interactive and community focused – but keeping everyone happy isn’t an easy task however with our successful history of running official Battlefield tournaments, gaming clans and communities we have the knowledge to create interesting and engaging community events with our 2,000 community member Discord server.
Using specific call to actions and honest on stream reviews when collaborating with brands such as WeAreSneak, we have shown a 57% conversion rate providing WeAreSneak with over £30,000 worth of sales. Using our custom backlinks e.g blueandqueenie.com/sneak we’re able to track monthly orders and pro-actively promote products.
This proves when it comes to conversion rates, a strong community produces strong results!
When we started streaming in 2016 we found that we were duplicating each others workload and to solve the issue we created our workflow diary. The advantages of scheduling tasks is that we can be consistently efficient of our workload and place our focus on the enjoyment of our live streams. Throughout the years we’ve found patterns so that we can efficiently predict and prepare for an upcoming months.
Over the past 4 years we’ve supported charities close to our hearts and helped raise funds for these amazing causes. We’ve worked closely with Special Effect, a charity who help disabled people play games and improve their quality of life. We’ve also raised funds for Cancer Research UK and participated in a marathon campaign #ThisIsBattleRoyaleForTheKids with PUBG for Extra Life.
