Battlebit: Remastered

The Liquid Horse

BattleBit Remastered is a low-poly and massive multiplayer FPS that supports 254 players per server going head to head. Customise your weapons and set out battling on a near-fully destructible maps with various weapons and vehicles!

BattleBit Remastered was only released into Early Access in 2023, but this low-poly FPS offers that classic Battlefield vibe with pure, simple fun. Being a very visually simple game does work for it, though this style of graphics won’t appeal to everyone.

There’s no real story to BattleBit Remastered, but it comes with quite a few game modes and an incredible player pool size of 127 vs 127 teams. The development team has revealed they plan to have at least 18 more game modes, which vary according to the selected server size during matchmaking. BattleBit Remastered can support up to 254 players per server and at the end of each map, top scoring players have their names listed and players can choose to decide the next map and game mode.

BattleBit Remastered has almost fully destructible maps using a dynamic day and night system. Vehicular combat, including tanks, helicopters, and sea vehicles, plays a significant role in different game modes for team-based tactics. Combined with a classic class system and over 45 customisable weapons, every match in BattleBit Remastered feels completely different from the last.

There are some design choices, like a missing mini map that hardcore FPS fans will appreciate. Also fans of large-scale war games will enjoy the team-based focus where voice chat is important, and a coordinated squad can steamroll through the enemy team. There are multiple voice channels to jump into for some strategizing but while the voice chat is important, you aren’t forced to use it. Despite how enjoyable BattleBit Remastered is, this is clearly an Early Access game. The developers are actively working on the game, releasing regular updates and working with a player-formed Feedback Group.

BattleBit Remastered is an icon of what fans of large-scale war enjoyable games want to see and after sinking 300 hours into it I can honestly say I’ll be playing 300 hours more.
